Laura Chavez
CEO and President
Laura Chavez (she/her) currently is the CEO and President of Supportive Housing Coalition of New Mexico. Her current duties include overseeing and guiding the day-to-day operations as well as driving the agency towards its future. Laura has over 20 years of experience in the housing arena including at MFA where she oversaw the Affordable Housing Act, and worked directly with housing policy and legislative initiatives. Ms. Chavez has completed the NM Real Estate Commission Broker’s Exam/Licensure and The National Association of REALTORS Mandatory Ethics Training. Ms. Chavez is a certified HUD Environmental Review Officer, she is nationally certified in Trauma Informed Care Service Delivery is accredited as a HUD certified Permanent Supportive Housing/Shelter Plus Care Administrator.
